THE NSIKA FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

Our response to transformation in the architectural profession is to educate students of architecture who come from previously disadvantaged families.

At the end of each academic year, first year students at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal are given the opportunity to apply for The Nsika Scholarship.

This scholarship provides tuition for the four remaining academic years to completion of a Masters Degree in Architecture.

By selecting a first year student on the basis of the student’s first Year End Portfolio, an objective assessment can be made with regard to the suitability of each student by the NAD shareholders and the UKZN academic staff.

Through their efforts, these recipients have shown that they have the determination and ability to succeed in this increasingly demanding profession.

The recipients of the Nsika Scholarship Awards are;

2017 Bonnie Bopela

2018 Kelisha Francis

2019 Sbusiso Mwandla

2020 Erin Naidoo

2021 Samkelo Mthethwa
